Feeling lost or stuck

Are you feeling lost? Stuck? Confused don’t know which path to take?

We all feel like this at times and the longer these feelings linger the stronger they become and the more tangled up with emotions. It can be so frustrating, completely energy draining and you just seem to get into a deeper rut with no way out that you can see as you are caught in the cycle of emotions.

When this happens you can ask yourself, what is life trying to teach you when you feel so unsure, when you continue to reach dead ends, or lack clarity to take the next step?

In these cases life is so often saying- ‘Be Still’ rest and listen. It is telling you to stop going down the path that you are going down because it is getting you nowhere. You are just going in circles and if you keep doing what you’re always doing, then you will always get what you have always got or are getting. Common sense you would think, but when you are stuck in the middle it is hard to see, act or do and you feel stuck or lost.

If you feel like you have reached a dead end, it’s probably because you have. So you can either turn around or retrace your steps, or you can learn to jump over the wall. Neither of those options is better, it’s up to you, but life is getting you to stop and wait for guidance, inner guidance or from above whatever way you like to think of it, what works for you best.

Stopping and resting can be a scary place to be for many of us, especially if you are always doing and never resting or listening or taking time out to just ‘be’. Because you know something needs to change you have to allow change to happen. If you allow yourself to fully accept the place you are in and move your awareness into the present, you will see how easy and fluid this step will become.

So it is time to “  Step into Action” and start to change.

Here are some ideas of what you can do:

Step into Action

Stop what you are doing and all your thoughts, if you have been thinking or focusing one way, you need to change your point of view or try to explore another option or line of thought. Look at the situation differently, from a different angle, maybe get a trusted friend or mentor to help you. Doing this will create new energy and this new energy will have the power to move you into a new direction.

2. Pay attention to your feelings as they are your emotional guidance system. Pay attention and see when and where you feel good. Follow the good feelings. Confused about how you feel? Go back to step one, and try to just focus on the facts without the emotion. Imagine you are an outsider looking in, what would you say to yourself?
Write your feelings down.
Write the facts without emotion, be truthful. Look at them as see what you are saying to yourself.
Writing things down, is one of the best ways I know to solving issues. It helps you release and then look and see.

3. Trust your gut. When logic alone is not enough to solve a problem, you must turn to your next tool and that is your intuition. Your intuition is more often than not correct and rarely will it guide you wrong. In order to connect with your intuition practice meditating, go for a walk in nature, sit in nature, or sit somewhere quiet where you like to be, relax your mind and your body and maybe even seek help. Practice these exercises that suit you best daily, until the answers come.

Life will guide you, but only once you stop and surrender to your situation. When you do, the answer will come like a speeding bullet and you will see that it was probably staring at you in the face the whole time, you just couldn’t see it at the time.

Sometimes it may only take one session and it can send you in the right direction. A good life coach will never tell you what to do, they only help you to find the answers with-in, what is right for you.
